Distance is not measured in kilometres
A Norwegian buyer, a British heir and a German company have one thing in common: none of them can drop into the office to ask how things are going. Their relationship with the firm is entirely written, which means the quality of that relationship is the quality of what they receive in writing.
The classic risk in an international practice is not answering late. It is answering well in the wrong place: on WhatsApp from somebody's phone, in an email forwarded to nobody, in a call that leaves no trace. Six months later nobody can reconstruct what the client was told, or when.
And there is a second layer: each of them writes in their own language. Norwegian, English, German, Spanish. A firm working in four languages needs language to be a detail of the message, not a separate filing system.
