A firm's real asset isn't its matters — it's its clients. Yet what the firm knows about each one lives scattered across inboxes, folders and the memory of whoever spoke to them last.

In Mandato every client has one record, and everything hangs off it: their matters, their documents, their conversations and their invoices. Whoever opens the record sees the whole client — not just their own slice.

Onboarding, with KYC built in

Onboarding a client isn't filling in a form: it's the engagement's first compliance obligation. So onboarding in Mandato brings the KYC checklist for their nationality — DNI, NIE, passport or equivalent — and screens them against OpenSanctions, with the result stored on the record.

Conflicts of interest are checked against your past clients and opposing parties before you accept. The awkward discovery happens on day one, not on signing day.

How compliance works in Mandato

The complete record

Open and closed matters, documents with their versions, every email and every WhatsApp, invoices issued and amounts outstanding. Everything the firm knows about the client, on one screen.

With the client's language on record, communications go out in Spanish or English without asking twice. For a firm serving foreign clients, that's not a detail — it's half the service.

From first contact to engagement

Contacts who aren't clients yet have their place too: who asked, about what, and where you left it. When a contact signs the engagement letter, their history comes with them — they don't start from zero.

And from the engagement, to the portal

From the record you invite the client to their portal: the branded view where they follow their matter, share documents and see their invoices. The firm stops being a black box, and the phone rings less.

Frequently asked questions

Can I bring my existing clients over?

Yes. Mandato imports your existing client base, and documents can come over from Google Drive in a one-off import. Your history doesn't stay behind.

What does the client see of their record?

Only what's shared on their portal: their matters' status, shared documents, messages and their invoices. Internal notes and the rest of the record belong to the firm.

How are conflicts of interest detected?

When you onboard a client or a matter, Mandato checks the parties against your past clients and opposing parties and warns you before you accept. The final call, as always, is the lawyer's.
